section of the Inland Marine Guide.
The Guide is a leading industry resource of forms, rating
procedures, and other information for the traditionally nonfiled classes
of inland marine insurance.
The equipment valuation section has been updated to
provide more details on resources for determining equipment values,
including links to websites for construction equipment guides.

the Inland Marine Guide, contact Rick Maka, director of

AAIS has established a new partnership with the
Insurance Skills Center (ISC), a California-based insurance training
organization that has developed the conferences and curricula leading to
new designations for farm and construction risk specialists.
AAIS forms are taught in ISC programs, and ISC
trainers will now have online access to AAIS resources and information
through the AAISdirect
Internet service. The new partnership also formalizes and expands
existing efforts to expand awareness of ISC conferences and the sessions
in them that provide training on AAIS forms.
For information on ISC conferences and designations, go to
www.insuranceskillscenter.com, or call 800-375-8704.
Effective July 1, 2007, the Utah Insurance
Department will accept only electronic filings of forms, rates, and
reports.
A
bulletin from Commissioner D. Kent Michie states that insurers can
choose between two electronic services for submitting filings:
-
The System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing
(SERFF), developed under the auspices of the National Association of
Insurance Commissioners; and
-
A system developed by Sircon Corporation,
Okemos, Mich., and associated with a group called the State
Insurance Regulators Consortium (SIRC).
AAIS is a licensed third-party provider of SERFF
filings, and can submit custom filings of company forms and
manuals, whether or not they are based on AAIS programs. For
information, contact
compliance@AAISonline.com.
AAIS invites property/casualty professionals to
submit their observations and concerns regarding emerging exposures
through our new AAISalert web page.
The AAISalert online submission form asks users to describe
new exposures they are concerned about, indicate how they address the
exposure or plan to address it, and how it is likely to affect AAIS
programs. One need not be a
member of AAIS to participate.
Ideas generated through AAISalert may be
incorporated into AAIS's program revisions, and may also become topics
for meetings and publications

AAIS director of corporate communications, at joeh@AAISonline.com.
