AAIS COMPLETES MICHIGAN SURVEY
ON BEHALF OF AFFILIATES
USING CURRENT FORMS

AAIS has submitted a response to a Michigan policy forms survey on behalf of its affiliates who are using current versions of AAIS forms and endorsements.

In January, the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services (MOFIS) issued a memorandum requiring all companies to fill out a survey asking if forms have any provisions that might restrict a policyholder's pursuit of a claim against the insurer, and if they have provisions that comply with certain Michigan statutes.

AAIS submitted a separate survey form for the current version of each AAIS program. Companies must contact the MOFIS themselves to indicate which AAIS programs they are using, and to complete the survey for any non-AAIS forms or non-current AAIS forms they are using. The survey is attached to the memorandum.

AAIS affiliates can find copies of the completed survey forms in the "Advisory Information" on AAISdirect for each line of insurance they use in Michigan. Companies that use AAIS programs in Michigan but are not signed up for AAISdirect can submit a request for a copy of a completed survey to cecelias@AAISonline.com.

GEORGIA ISSUES GUIDELINES
FOR ELECTRONIC FILINGS

The Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner has issued a bulletin establishing guidelines for electronic filing of property/casualty rates and forms.

As of Jan. 1, 2006, the office's P/C division began accepting filings submitted through the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF); use of SERFF is expected to be mandatory for P/C filings as of Jan. 1, 2007.

Also effective Jan. 1, 2006, any filing not submitted through SERFF must be submitted on compact disks. Organizations that submitted paper filings between Jan. 1 and Jan. 30, 2006 can resubmit them using the instructions for non-SERFF filings.
