Job Summary
AAIS is expanding the compliance department with a Filings/Compliance Specialist whose primary job purpose is to obtain required State Department appprovals for filed rate/loss costs, rules and forms.
Job Duties
- Process initial submissions with State Insurance Departments on new or revised programs, rate levels and loss costs. Process objection responses on priority basis. Process company deviations and other custom independent filings.
- Make regular follow-up with State Insurance Departments regarding status of pending filings to achieve approval within 120 days of submission.
- Update, maintain and issue filing guidelines. Sort and preview newly enacted or pending legislation and forward to AVP of Compliance for further review.
- Draft and process bulletins as assigned. Check and verify submissions and bulletins prepared by others.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years filing experience
- Knowledge of insurance products and terminology required.
- SERFF experience preferred;Tracker a plus
- Computer proficiency required
- Some college preferred

Job Summary
AAIS product development specialists are highly qualified experts in their field. AAIS is looking for a highly motivated candidate who pays particular attention to detail in drafting commercial lines policy language and manual rules. You will be responsible for recommending program changes, as well as monitoring legislative and economic activities and emerging insurance issues to maintain excellence in AAIS products. You will enjoy a truly unique opportunity in the insurance industry.
Job Duties
- Conduct research and analysis on competitor products, market needs and emerging issues in the commercial lines insurance products.
- Write policy language, rules, endorsements and other supporting materials for AAIS commercial lines products.
- Work closely with compliance staff, review regulatory issues and determine their impact on AAIS commercial lines products.
- Interact with AAIS staff and users of AAIS products with respect to marketing and systems support.
- Communicate background information and explanatory material associated with AAIS product changes to affiliated companies, prospects, regulators, and others.
Requirements
- Successful candidates must demonstrate experience in writing commercial lines policy language, rules and endorsements.
- Bachelors Degree with insurance coursework a plus ( ie CPCU)
- Two or more year of insurance industry experience
